This was our cup final, and no one was going to take this from us.
There are so many ways to describe the highs of yesterday's final, but from the coaching team there is one over-arching high and that is that the hours spent up at Marple Hall school throughout the season, often in horrific weather, all paid off.
Our team scored 17 goals in this match , but in contrast to almost all our previous matches this season, these goals were proper team goals.
The u12s this season have scored over 200 times, but these 17 goals were the most important, and the most gratifying.
Yes we conceded 7, but Stockport ran out of ideas, we blunted them as a threat, their pop shots from 20 yards out, will not win you matches.
Many neutral spectators were super impressed by our team, as u12's, playing the lacrosse that they did.
Our squad of players, were all responsible for this victory. Our large, eager squad, regardless of lot's of game time, or a fleeting moment of game time, all performed as we wanted them to...as champions!
On the pitch we could see their hard work clicking. Off the pitch, you turned out in force and with good (loud) voice. The celebrations continuing long into the afternoon/evening, back at the clubhouse. Without over egging the sentiment, yesterday was a special day for us all.
