7 days ago it was a tough watch, not so today. Our boys turned up and put right the wrongs of the previous match.
Brooklands came with only 9 players, and posed the question, loan them players or play 8 aside...we were not making the same mistake as last season!
So 8 aside it was, and Brooklands opened the scoring but eventually our dominance showed, in most areas of the game, perhaps more tellingly on the bench, being able to 'freshen' it up and rotate the players the biggest advantage.
Our ground balls were better, the handling skills better, and tactically more aware and getting better.
A commanding lead at half time gave us a chance to swap keepers and Hayden got to spread his midi-wings, notching a goal -reward for not just this match, but the ones previous.
There remains plenty of work ahead, but today's match was ideal, a real shot in the arm as we look to build and gain momentum.
19 goals, not easy to keep up with in terms of who the goal scorers all were, but I think it was as follows:
Dima x5; Freddie Mc x3; Freddie B x2; Louis x2; James x2; Oliver x1; Henry x1; Hugo x2;
