Playing 8 aside on an artificial trampoline made for tough conditions. Lightening fast and incredibly zippy following the early morning downpours, perhaps a home team tactic to get the edge on us..?!

This was a pretty even match between two teams who both shone at times, and at one point the scoreline was 10-10 in the 4th quarter, but there was an inner confidence within the Mellor ranks that we had the quality to get over the line.

With each match that passes the tactical awareness improves, it's no where near perfect, and when it goes wrong, when a goal is conceded, it's often because of an error, either individually or collectively. It can be explained. Rarely is it because of sheer brilliance.

There were times in this mornings match when instructions were being given and then ignored. The fewer times that happens the better we'll become.

At times confusion reigned as the 'away' ref made questionable call after questionable call, but they volunteer their time and that has to be respected. Thankfully we ended up 14-11 victors, those calls quickly forgotten.

We had Mass making his debut, we had Isaac getting into shooting positions, we had Xander facing off with his own unique method, we had Heath opening his goal account for the season and we had the luxury of swapping up the keeper duties.
