Mersey were barking up the wrong tree when they played the u12's this morning. It was as comprehensive a win as we've enjoyed this season and if it wasn't for the free clears and some complacency we'd have won by more.

There were spells in the match when Mersey may have felt that they might 'get back into the match' but in truth, they were never going to. All over the pitch we bossed them.

A rare fast start from Mellor got the scoreboard going and the dominant tone was set, Mersey arguably never recovered from a 1-7 score line after the first quarter.

Mersey though, did compete and our boys simply relished the battle. Maybe at times the very brief un-sportsmanlike marking, was simply us enjoying ourselves. There's no where in the rule book that states barking at the opposition is not allowed!!

This performance will hopefully send a few ripples to the other teams, not just Mersey. The Cup is ours, and we don't intend to hand it over any time soon.
