Often the u12s are slow to start, regardless of home or away, we grow into a match. Not so this morning, a strong, confident start and soon enough we were 5 goals up.

That set the tone for the rest of the match. Cheadle/Wilmslow just didn't have enough.

The home ref was very keen to call every single foul or misdemeanor, and it raised a few eyebrows from the Mellor contingent, but, on reflection, if we go the distance this season, the officiating will get closer to the level we saw this morning. It's our lesson to learn.

Coach Andy, able to rotate the team regularly, saw players playing in and out of position. Ed continued to drive out from D, with reward. Hayden's distribution was terrific this morning and his accuracy set up many an attack. The loudest cheer of the game came early in the 4th, when Massimo opened his Mellor goal count, with a neat and tidy finish.
