To get the match on was a real team effort, with Mellor's pitches suffering with the recent weather, switching to Timperley's astro surface was a no-brainer, the two teams wanted to play lacrosse.

Mellor started slowly, lacking energy and drive, and that slow start saw Timperley edge a tight 1st quarter. A word or two at the break did the trick and Mellor started to work through the gears. 5-3 Mellor at halftime.

This 8 aside match saw Timperley/BE slowly slip away, with only one sub the home team just faded as the game progressed. Mellor meanwhile took no mercy. Going on to score 12 unanswered goals in the 2nd half of the game. The goals scored were the right kind of goals, little give and go's and the shot accuracy improving as the game went on.

At the other end, our defence, regardless of which player it was, took pride in shutting out the opposition.
